A Dreadful Splendor is a Gothic murder mystery set in Victorian England. Genevieve, an 18-year-old orphan, survives harsh London by performing séances for grieving, gullible clients, and bilking them out of their valuables—until she’s caught.
To escape the hangman’s noose, she agrees to conduct one last séance for the Lord of Somerset Park, who expects she can flush the murderer of his young fiancée, someone he believes is embedded in his household.
